Places to visit in Newhaven
A nice place to visit would be Newhaven Fort, a WWII fort. There are probably coastal walks towards Brighton, but a better bet would be to go the other direction from Seaford towards Cuckhaven and on over the Seven Sisters towards Beachy Head.
Newhaven used to be named Meeching until the 16th Century when a great storm diverted the course of the Sussex Ouse so forming a New Haven. Newhaven is the postal town of the nearby villages of South Heighton & Denton.
