You may follow in the footsteps of the vikings, shop in the small specilalized stores, have a gourmet meal, enjoy fresh coffee at one of the cosy cafés, visit Europe's only Whaling Museum, or take a walk among the lovely sculptures of the town.

Sandefjord offers refreshing salt sea and smooth slopes of naked rock. Make yourself a picnic-basket with seafood from the famous fishtrader at the harbour, rent some bicycles in the town centre, and go all the way out to the last tip of land before the endless sea.

Getting There

From E18 follow signs for Sandefjord. Later on follow signs for "Strömstad" (ferry symbol)

For rail or bus transport the station is just 10 minutes walk from the ferry terminal. There is also a taxi rank just opposite the terminal building.

Parking

There is an unsecured parking on the other side of the road from the terminal building for free parking up to 24 hours. For longer stay, please use the inside parking at the railway station. Pre-booking not possible.
