Travemunde useful information

Get around - The main street and the sea promenade of Travemünde is only for pedestrians. There are buses that run the town. Main connection point is the train station. The best way to get around is by bike or foot.

Eat - There are countless restaurants in summer but during the week and off season most places are closed.

Do - Walk to the light tower and see ships pass by.

• Take the boat to the "Priwall" and walk to the less developed site and beach of Travemünde 
• Visit the sail ship "Passat" in the harbour 
• Travemünder Woche: Once a year for one week big sailing boats visit Travemünde 
• Sand World: Once a year artist build monuments of sand

Sleep - There are a lot of holiday apartements for rent. During summer this town is very busy and reservations are essential. If you don't plan to stay for at least a week, hotels are an other option:

Budget - If you are on budget, better stay in Lübeck because Travemünde isn't cheap and varierty is much smaller.

Splurge - Hotel Maritim, first hotel in town with spa and amazing views; and Columbia, which is only 20m from the beach

Getting There:

By Car: 

Take the Autobahn A1 and follow signs for 'Luebeck-Travemunde-Skandinavienkai'. This road will take you directly to the ferry terminal. 

By Train:

The German train company Deutsche Bahn AG has a train which goes via Luebeck main transtation direct to Luebeck-Travemunde Skandinavienkail which is at the ferry terminal.

By boat: 

TT-Line operates daily ferry trips between Travemünde and Trelleborg, Sweden. During the summer time and on public holidays the ferries are very well booked. Make sure you have a reservation and book a ferry with FerryTravels..
